The Kriol Jazz Festival stage welcomes the African legend.

Ismael Lo is admired and recognized worldwide for his vocal skills and ability to convey profound messages of peace, love, and hope.

With poetic and melodic compositions, and a captivating and sensitive personality, his Mandinka melodies gave the lively Senegalese mbalax a calmer rhythm and a more melodic sound.

He has created a unique style that combines local rhythms and folk sounds.
Ismaël LO is nicknamed the African Bob Dylan.

His song “Tajabone,” from the album of the same name (1992), propelled him onto the world stage, validated by its inclusion in the soundtrack of Pedro Almodóvar's film “Todo sobre mi madre” (All About My Mother).

His songs address themes such as racism, selfishness, African unity, women, and social issues, often with moving lyrics.
