One of the artists at the forefront of Música Popular Brasileira

The singer-songwriter Maria Gadú performs her third career album Guelã with her live band. In Guelã, Maria Gadú transcends expectations bringing innovative sounds. Tracks like "Obloco" and "Tecnopapiro" show Maria Gadú’s ability in always surprising, overflowing musicality and lyricism.

Released in May 2015, the album was nominated for the Latin Grammy in the category best album of Brazilian popular music.

Playing in bars since the age of thirteen, Gadú honed her song writing and developed a unique voice.
She was signed to Brazil's Slap Records label after being spotted by Caetano Veloso with whom she did her first national tour, starting the momentum which saw her become one of the most recognizable young names in new Brazilian music.

Caetano Veloso once said: "Maria Gadú is a popular phenomenon for her own generation and someone with an authentic musical vocation. The first time I saw her I was dazzled and when she started singing it was spectacular."
